Celebrating the Chinese Language Day—A Glimpse into the Upcoming Events

Language is the bridge for better communication, and also the vibrant embodiment of culture. The Chinese language has enjoyed a profound history and various evolutions, which gave rise to its unique charms. As the 2024 Chinese Language Day is approaching, there will be a series of events exploring the beauty of the Chinese language. Come and have a glimpse of them!

 

 

Event 1: Lecture on Chinese civilization

Date: Apri.19th, 2024

Time: 14:30-16:00

Location: Lide Building, Room 508


Join us for a thought-provoking lecture where Jiang Meng, Professor from the School of History of RUC, will introduce the characteristics of Chinese civilization through observations on tangible stuff such as clothes and food. This will be a meaningful opportunity to engage in the Chinese civilization.


 

Event 2: World Youth Roundtable Forum

Embark on a journey of collective wisdom and vibrant exchange at our Youth Roundtable Conference. This forum will focus on the communication and co-existence of Chinese and foreign civilizations, where the voices of the youth around the world can take center stage. The forum consists of three themes: “Language and Culture”, “Economics and Society“, and ”Technology and Education“.



 

Event 3: Appreciation of Chinese Family Letters

Date: Apri.20th, 2024

Time: 10:00-11:30

Location: The third floor of the RUC Museum.


Step into the Chinese traditional expressions of love, longing, and connection, to see how profound emotions in conveyed through pieces of letters, and to discover how Chinese cherish their family. The RUC Museum will invite international students to read some moving Chinese family letters. It is a good chance to appreciate a piece of Chinese cultural heritage that speaks to the heart.
