On the morning of April 25, the opening ceremony of special exhibition "Yellow River Cantata Echoes from Here" and book launch ceremony of "A Brief History of Yellow River Cantata" was held in the museum.
Zheng Shuiquan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Renmin University of China, Shi Yingchun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Northwest University for Nationalities, Han Ying, Executive Vice Minister of the Party Committee Propaganda Department of Northwest University for Nationalities, Zhang Andong, second son of Guang Weiran (Zhang Guangnian), author of Yellow River Cantata, volunteer of the heritage of Yellow River Cantata, and award-winning designer of the Red Dot in Germany and many international industrial design awards, Huang Ping, nephew of Guang Weiran, researcher of anti-war culture, and propagator of Yellow River Cantata. Activity planner Huang Ping, niece of Guang Weiran, director of the Department of Composition and Musicology of the School of Music of Northwest University for Nationalities (NWUN), Huang Wei, director of the Research Center of Yellow River Cantata of NWUN, curator of the exhibition hall of Yellow River Cantata, and representatives of the Committee of the League of the People's Republic of China University, the Archives, the School Museum, the Museum, the Publishing House, and the teachers and students attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Li Zhenshi, director of the museum and school history center.
Zheng Shuiquan said that the connection between Renmin University of China and Yellow River Cantata is engraved in the depth of national memory, we should remember the mission, not forgetting the initial perseverance, take history as a mirror, move forward through art, and trace back the spiritual monument forged by flesh and blood; we should gather resources, deepen art education, and actively explore new era of art education through resource integration and synergistic innovation, and actively explore art education of the new era. Shi Yingchun said, Northwest University for Nationalities and Renmin University of China carries the same source of symbiotic history, in the development of higher education in the vast journey, continue together across time and space of the Yan'an spirit genealogy. The two universities will take this exhibition as a basis to work together to deepen the combing of the historical lineage of Yellow River Cantata, artistic creation and its cross-generation dissemination path research, and strive to launch more landmark achievements with academic depth and innovative value, in order to forge new people of the times who will take on the big responsibility of national rejuvenation and write a new chapter.
Zhang Dongan said, Yellow River Cantata was born in the crisis era of the Chinese nation's anti-Japanese salvation, and the song expressed the call of hundreds of millions of people's hearts. 1939, Yellow River Cantata was premiered in the auditorium of Shaanbei Public School, and against the war fire, it quickly grew into the rallying cry of the patriotic salvation of the Chinese young generation. Today, we have to learn and implement the spirit of Xi Jinping's important speech during his visit and research at Renmin University of China, and sing Yellow River Cantata in the new era.
Li Yongqiang, secretary of the Party committee and chairman of the board of Renmin University of China Publishing House, introduced the publication history of A Brief History of Yellow River Cantata in his speech. He said that this is a work full of historical temperature and cultural thickness. Relying on the oral accounts of those who have experienced the event, literature examination and field investigation, the author team has restored the real lineage of Yellow River Cantata, a magnificent masterpiece born from the fire and refined in the times. This book is not only a vivid biography of the classic work Yellow River Cantata, but also a spiritual atlas recording the awakening of the national spirit and artistic innovation, which is an important carrier for the inheritance of the red gene in the new era.
Zheng Shuiquan, Shi Yingchun, Li Yongqiang, Zhang Andong, Huang Ping, Huang Wei, Yu Bo, Sui Qi inaugurated the book A Brief History of Yellow River Cantata.
Zhang Andong, Huang Ping donated to RUC the inscription calligraphy of Comrade Mao Zedong written on October 23, 1937 for Shaanbei Public School , Zheng Shuiquan accepted the donation on behalf of the university.
Ceremony was hosted by the museum, school history curator Li Zhengshi.
After the ceremony, the guests visited the exhibition, Zhang Andong, Huang Ping, Huang Wei, etc., respectively, from the artistic and historical perspectives to guide.
Eighty-six years ago, Yellow River Cantata, which united the spirit of the nation, was sung in the auditorium of the Shaanbei Public School in Yan'an, awakening the fighting spirit of Chinese youth with the roaring sound of Yellow River; 86 years later, with the exhibition and cultural relics as a carrier, the Cantata is sung back to Renmin University of China, so that we can relive this magnificent artistic epic and inherit the red gene that will never fade away.
