Established in 1988 by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the IPCC provides policymakers with authoritative scientific assessments of climate change, including its latest developments, impacts and risks, adaptation and mitigation strategies. Since its founding, the IPCC has released six assessment reports that serve as essential references for global climate action and international negotiations. China has actively participated in these efforts, contributing expertise and insights to the international climate science community.
