Renmin University of China (RUC) has established a science and engineering ecosystem driven by the “2+2+1” strategy: two academic domains, two advanced infrastructure hubs and one engine for technology transfer.

Two academic domains

• Digital Science:

Integrating AI, big data, blockchain, and quantum technology, this domain supports the rapidly growing digital economy. By combining RUC's strengths in the social sciences with advanced computing, we develop intelligent tools that enhance modern governance and evidence-based decision-making.

• Physical Science:

This domain brings together AI for Science (AI4S), new materials and atomic-level manufacturing to create innovative solutions in environmental protection, healthcare and sustainable development.

RUC provides two state-of-the-art shared facilities that foster interdisciplinary collaboration:

• The Instrumentation Center:

A premier hub for precision measurement, materials characterization and analytical research. The AI Computing Center:

A high-performance computing platform that empowers data-intensive and computationally driven research.

• One engine: From lab to market

RUC has founded the Institute for Future Intelligent Manufacturing in the Xiong'an New Area, serving as a key engine that transforms scientific ideas into real-world impact.

The institute brings together researchers and industry partners to collaborate on next-generation IT, biotechnology and advanced materials. Its mission is to accelerate the transition of laboratory breakthroughs into practical solutions that create value for society.
