On Sept 6, Renmin University of China (RUC) held its opening ceremony for the Class of 2025 postgraduate students at the Tongzhou Campus, which is now been fully operational. More than 6,000 new students embarked on a new chapter in their academic and personal journeys.

Zhang Donggang, secretary of the CPC Committee of RUC, warmly welcomed the incoming postgraduate students on behalf of the university. He noted that RUC established by the Party, during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, has always been closely linked to the nation's fate and the cause of national rejuvenation. 

He encouraged students to become pioneers in advancing the great cause of building a strong country and achieving national rejuvenation through Chinese modernization.

President Lin Shangli highlighted that holding the opening ceremony at the Tongzhou Campus for the first time marked a milestone in the university's history. As the first cohort to witness the campus's full operation, students were encouraged to integrate their personal growth with national progress and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and to contribute more to the future of the country and humanity.

As the only national key university in the core area of Beijing's sub-center, the Tongzhou Campus is now fully operational.

Hao Beijing, a doctoral student representative and commander of the International Peacekeeping Corps of the Ministry of Public Security's Special Service Bureau, stated that while his role has changed from peacekeeping police officer to doctoral student, his original aspiration remains unchanged. He said that only by keeping in step with the times and sharing a common destiny with the people can one better realize the value of life.
