On Sep 9, Renmin University of China (RUC) held a work deployment meeting for the fall semester of the 2025–2026 academic year.

Zhang Donggang, secretary of the CPC Committee of RUC, chaired the meeting and delivered remarks, while President Lin Shangli outlined key tasks for the new semester.

Zhang emphasized that building a world-class university with Chinese characteristics requires strategic resolve and focused breakthroughs. He noted that this year marks the concluding year of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) and the planning year for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30). 

He called on the entire university to uphold a goal-oriented approach, work hard and remain firmly committed to forging a new path toward building a world-class university with Chinese characteristics. These efforts, he said, will contribute new and greater achievements to accelerating the development of a leading education system and advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Lin noted that since the beginning of the year, the university has closely aligned itself with the major strategic needs of the country. He stressed the need for unified focus on the long-term vision toward RUC's centenary in 2037, and the thorough implementation of the Outline for Building a Leading Education System (2024–2035) and the 2025–2027 Three-Year Action Plan.

Lin called on the university to stay closely aligned with national strategies, keep pace with developments in the digital and intelligent era, and continuously enhance the quality of talent cultivation, in order to accelerate progress toward building a world-class university with Chinese characteristics.
