Educational Flagship & Theoretical Hub

Established in 1998, the School of Economics at Renmin University of China evolved from the 1939 Political Economy Research Office. It has been instrumental in founding the economics discipline in New China. As a premier center for economics education and research, it aims to cultivate exceptional talent, develop a distinctive economics hub, and offer policy advice for national development.

The school offers undergraduate programs in Economics, International Economics and Trade, and Digital Economy, along with 12 master's and 10 doctoral programs. It hosts eight innovative platforms, including the Economics-Mathematics Dual Degree and the Chinese Economy English-taught Master's program. Recognized as a National Base for Economics Talent, it is part of the "Double First-Class" initiative and ranks first in Theoretical Economics in national assessments.
