The Fourth 21st Century International Forum of Law School Deans and Jurists was held at Renmin University of China (RUC) from Oct 3-4. Nearly 200 international guests, including presidents and deans from over 100 world-renowned law schools, heads of international organizations, and experts and scholars from 37 countries and regions, joined more than 600 Chinese counterparts.

Together, they promoted global exchange and cooperation in legal education, established a high-level dialogue platform for the international legal community, and forged important consensus on integrating AI with the rule of law.
Zhang Donggang, secretary of the CPC Committee at RUC, noted that the global rule of law has reached a critical point in the evolution of human civilization. He expressed RUC's willingness to work with all parties to expand cooperation in legal fields, build new platforms for coordinated development, cultivate outstanding legal talent, and promote dialogue among civilizations, guided by a shared vision for global rule of law in the AI era.
Lin Shangli, president of RUC, stated that the university has engaged in the development of digital governance and digital rule of law. He hoped that the forum would serve as an opportunity for legal scholars worldwide to conduct cutting-edge discussions.
Djoomart Otorbaev, former prime minister of Kyrgyzstan, pointed out that artificial intelligence is rapidly entering the legal field, bringing both opportunities and challenges to legal professionals worldwide. He emphasized that AI will reshape rather than eliminate the legal profession.
Ignacio Tirado, secretary-general of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), remarked that over the past 75 years, the Law School of RUC has pioneered legal education in China. UNIDROIT has worked closely with many scholars from RUC Law School, and is committed to continuing this partnership to further strengthen global rule of law cooperation.
