Forum on Belt and Road International Cooperation: Restructuring of Global Industrial Chains and Coordinating of Global Supply Chains

On Oct 17, the forum titled “Belt and Road” International Cooperation: Restructuring of Global Industrial Chains and Coordinating of Global Supply Chains was held in Tongzhou district. The event was a sub-forum of the 3rd Tongzhou Global Development Forum and was hosted by the School of Business, Renmin University of China. 

Focusing on topics such as advancing the Belt and Road Initiative, promoting international cooperation, optimizing resource allocation, and safeguarding supply chain security, the forum gathered nearly 200 guests from government, industry, and academia.

Qinggelertu, deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of RUC, noted that as high-quality global cooperation continues to deepen, maintaining the stability of global industrial and supply chains and advancing global development have become more prominent. He emphasized that RUC actively engages in research on major global issues, strengthens joint scientific research, and continues to contribute insights to global industrial chain restructuring and supply chain coordination, thereby promoting global governance toward greater fairness and rationality.

Li Xianxia, deputy head of Tongzhou district, remarked that the forum highlighted the critical importance of industrial chain restructuring and supply chain coordination. In recent years, Tongzhou has continuously improved its urban functions and upgraded its industrial capacity, becoming an important strategic hub in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region for serving the Belt and Road Initiative.

During the keynote speech session, Zhou Yinghui, president of the Beijing Branch of the Postal Savings Bank of China; Yao Jianming, professor at the School of Business, RUC; Liu Zhitao, vice president of Xiamen ITG Group Corp., Ltd.; and Gu Kejian, professor at the School of Business, delivered keynote addresses respectively titled “Financial Practices from the Confluence of Five Rivers to Global Integration,”“Industrial Chain Restructuring Under the New Landscape and the Development of New Quality Productive Forces,”“Coordination and Evolution in the New Landscape: The Belt and Road Initiative and Industrial Chain Resilience,” and “An Institutional Economics Analysis of Market Procurement Trade: Deconstructing Yiwu’s Foreign Trade Development Model.”
