On October 18, the Tongzhou Global Development Forum (2025) concluded at the Tongzhou Campus of Renmin University of China.

Based on in-depth discussions throughout the forum and in response to the practical needs of global development, the forum formulated and released five action initiatives for the comprehensive development of humanity and society toward 2050:

Mutual benefit and symbiotic growth: energizing the economic momentum of global development.

Promote an open world economy by building cross-border cooperation platforms, enhancing resource connectivity and policy coordination, narrowing the North–South gap, and strengthening the material foundations of development.

Joint governance: consolidating the political foundations of global development.

Establish governance frameworks based on equality in consultation and shared responsibilities, strengthen multilateral dialogue and cooperation mechanisms, and foster a stable and just international political environment.

People-centered development: strengthening the social foundations of global development.

Improve public service systems, enhance coordinated responses to public health emergencies and natural disasters, build an inclusive and equitable global social development framework, and mobilize collective efforts to improve people’s livelihoods.

Mutual learning among civilizations: enriching the cultural foundations of global development.

Create platforms for dialogue among diverse civilizations, innovate approaches to cultural exchange and communication, cultivate an open and inclusive cultural environment, and inject sustained spiritual vitality into global development.

Shared ecological stewardship: safeguarding the natural environment for global development.

Establish cross-border mechanisms for ecological governance, strengthen joint research, development, and dissemination of green technologies, share best practices in environmental governance, and promote resource-efficient and environmentally friendly modes of production and lifestyles, thereby protecting a livable and sustainable natural home for all.
