Renmin University of China (RUC) hosted the "Understanding Future Humanity" Multidimensional Symposium and launched the "Youth Observers" initiative on November 16.

The event brought together over 100 young talents, academic experts, and global industry leaders to explore future human cognition through three dialogue dimensions and 10 cutting-edge topics.
The symposium, with an average guest age under 30, featured TR35 young tech innovators, entrepreneurs, and international scholars.
The Joint Academy on Future Humanity, a collaboration between Renmin University and Westlake University, was established in June 2025, to lead interdisciplinary research on "future humanity".
Over the past five months, the academy has developed a strategic talent structure, supporting young researchers and observers in bridging academic and public understanding.
RUC President Lin Shangli emphasized the importance of understanding "future humanity" for future civilization. He noted the academy's commitment to "student-led", "global collaboration", and "deep exploration", involving "Youth Observers" from over 60 global institutions to create a diverse research community.

The main forum addressed "future humanity" across three dimensions: technology and industrial transformation; human form and health; and ethics and civilization.
Industry leaders shared insights on entrepreneurship, AI, and material innovation, emphasizing sustainable and ethical progress. Youth Observers from various institutions discussed the role of youth in shaping the future.
Parallel forums enabled over 100 young participants to discuss AI, life sciences, and other frontier topics. The first Youth Observers' Conference released a management charter to support their activities, fostering dynamic evaluations and encouraging the dissemination of cutting-edge ideas.
