
Professor Zhu Xinkai, born in December 1974, holds a PhD in Management and is a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of Renmin University of China (RUC) and the Executive Vice President of RUC. Professor Zhu also serves as the Convener of the Agricultural Economics Discipline Appraisal Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, the Vice President of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Economics, and the Vice President of the China Association of Rural Development. He is also an expert entitled to government special allowance from the State Council.
His main research interests include Marxist perspectives on agriculture, the history of rural development in China, and agricultural and food economics. He gives lectures on courses such as Agricultural Economics, Technical Economics of Agriculture, Rural Household Consumption and Rural Markets. Professor Zhu has published more than 100 papers in academic journals, including Economic Research and Management World. He once delivered a special lecture on National Food Security Strategy for the Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress. He has received numerous honors, including Outstanding Young Intellectual and the Youth May Fourth Medal, conferred by the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, and the Beijing Committee of the Communist Youth League. He was also awarded the title of National Young and Middle-Aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China, and the China Agricultural Talent Award by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China, among others.
