
Founded in 1559, the University of Geneva is Switzerland's second-largest university, after the University of Zurich, and the largest in the country's French-speaking region. The Confucius Institute at the University of Geneva, established in 2011, is the only Confucius Institute in Switzerland and serves as a hub for contemporary Chinese language teaching and research. The University of Geneva and RUC have developed extensive joint programs and academic collaborations in fields such as law, sociology, economics, history and archaeology, international relations and translation studies.
