On Jan 19, the 2025 Annual China's Independent Knowledge System Achievements Conference was held at the China National Archives of Publications and Culture (CNAPC) in Beijing. The event was jointly organized by Renmin University of China (RUC) and CNAPC, gathering scholars to review and showcase major original academic achievements and research trends in China over the past year.

Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, and the China Conservatory of Music presented major scholarly outputs in the fields of history, psychology and the arts, respectively. Drawing on multidisciplinary perspectives, the presentations highlighted the depth, breadth, and intellectual vitality of China's independent knowledge system. These academic achievements were noted for being firmly grounded in Chinese practice, responsive to contemporary challenges, and oriented toward contributing to global academic discourse.

As part of the conference, RUC donated a collection of valuable academic resources to CNAPC. The donation includes 79 volumes comprising 30 works authored by 10 of the university's National First-Grade Professors, as well as 150 volumes of 16 representative publications released by RUC, further enriching the national collection of scholarly works.

The event saw the joint release of the "Top 10 Academic Hot Topics of 2025" by RUC, the Shanghai Federation of Social Sciences, and Guangming Daily. The annual list identifies key research priorities and emerging themes in China's philosophy and social sciences, aiming to enhance public engagement with academic research while fostering closer interaction between scholarship and social development.

The conference also featured a high-level academic dialogue on how to accelerate the construction of China's independent knowledge system during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period.

Since April 24, 2023, RUC has spearheaded the establishment of the "University Alliance for Building China's Independent Knowledge System". Through a quarterly achievements release mechanism, the alliance systematically presents major academic achievements and tracks progress in the development of China's philosophical and social sciences, contributing to the advancement of China's distinctive academic framework and its growing influence on the global stage.
