From Jan 10 to 11, the 30th China Capital Market Forum (2026) was held at Renmin University of China (RUC), with the theme "China's Capital Market: History and Future". The forum gathered over 1,200 participants from academia, research institutions, financial regulators, think tanks, enterprises, and the media to reflect on the evolution of China's capital market and its role in building the country into a financial powerhouse.

A major highlight was the launch of the "China Capital Market Research: 30 Years, 30 Volumes" series. This collection consolidates three decades of research insights from the forum, documenting China's capital market reforms and development while extracting the key lessons and logic behind its growth. The series serves as a "chronological intellectual history" of China's capital market, offering structured academic support for high-quality market development and the construction of a financial powerhouse. The 2025 report specifically examines ecosystem reconstruction, market opening-up and risk management, providing a systematic analysis of reform pathways.

The forum featured several key sessions, including the President's Forum, a keynote on the "Logic of China's Capital Market Growth", and roundtable discussions on financial structural reform, ecosystem reconstruction, and strategies for developing China's capital market.

Wu Xiaoqiu, lead author of the series, highlighted in his closing remarks that China's capital market is a critical driver of modernization. Its healthy development will significantly advance the country's economic growth, technological innovation and legal system construction.

The forum also hosted two National Academy of Financial Research (NAFR) Night Talks, where over 20 experts and outstanding students from Tsinghua University and RUC engaged in in-depth discussions on the past and future of China's capital markets.
