[Speaker]Professor Lin Jianhai

Professor Lin Jianhai joined the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 1989. From 2012 to 2020, he served as the IMF's Secretary, concurrently holding the role of Secretary to both the IMF Board of Governors and the International Monetary and Financial Committee. He has been a pivotal participant and firsthand witness to landmark developments in global economic governance.
During his tenure at the IMF, he was deeply involved in global macroeconomic surveillance, responses to global financial crises, IMF quota reforms, and major international economic governance decisions including the inclusion of the Renminbi in the Special Drawing Rights (SDR) basket. He has witnessed the profound evolution of China's economic engagement with the world, and long been committed to advancing international economic cooperation and exchanges. He has participated in numerous major international events such as the G20 Summit, the Belt and Road Initiative forums, and the Davos Forum.
In addition, Professor Lin holds honorary and adjunct professorships at multiple universities, and has authored numerous scholarly articles on international economics and global governance. He is also the author of Reaching the World: My Thirty Years with the IMF.
