The first group of 18 Higher Education Intelligent Agents and 20 exemplary cases of digital education “going global” were announced at the 2026 World Digital Education Conference, held in Hangzhou from May 11 to 13.

Two projects from Renmin University of China (RUC) were included in the lists. The university’s Foreign-Related Rule of Law Teaching Intelligent Agent was selected as one of the Higher Education Intelligent Agents, while its China–Italy–US Triple Bachelor’s Degree Program in Management was named among the exemplary cases of digital education “going global.”
The 18 Higher Education Intelligent Agents were launched on the National Smart Education Platform for Higher Education and made publicly accessible. Focusing on intelligent teaching assistants and intelligent learning support, these agents cover foundational disciplines, interdisciplinary studies, and emerging fields.

The Foreign-Related Rule of Law Teaching Intelligent Agent was jointly developed by the Law School and the Gaoling School of Artificial Intelligence at RUC. Leveraging the university’s strengths in law and AI, the platform integrates legal expertise with cutting-edge AI technologies to build an intelligent framework based on legal knowledge and reasoning, supporting innovation in foreign-related legal education and practice-oriented training.
The intelligent agent features four core capabilities: a high-quality foreign-related legal knowledge base, a highly accurate multilingual legal retrieval system, a reliable generative framework enhanced by legal provisions, and advanced legal reasoning functions. It provides intelligent support for legal research, comparative legal analysis, case studies, and legal consultation in foreign-related legal education.
The system has already been applied in practical teaching at RUC’s Law School and supports the development of regional legal consultation centers focused on foreign-related legal affairs, where its performance continues to be tested and optimized in real-world scenarios. Looking ahead, the development team will further expand its application scenarios, enrich the intelligent agent ecosystem, and enhance its functions to deepen AI integration into foreign-related legal education.
To advance high-level international educational cooperation, the conference also released the first 20 exemplary digital education “going global” cases. These projects highlight innovative practices by Chinese universities in co-developing quality courses, mutual credit recognition, and people-to-people exchanges, providing replicable models for global digital education collaboration.

In 2022, RUC, LUISS University, and George Washington University jointly launched the world’s first transcontinental Triple Bachelor’s Degree Program in Management spanning China, Europe, and the United States. The program aims to explore new models of international talent cultivation and foster future global business leaders.
The four-year program allows students from the three universities to complete their first academic year at their home institution, followed by study periods sequentially at LUISS University, RUC, and George Washington University. Upon graduation, students receive bachelor’s degrees from all three universities. Through institutional innovation and process redesign, the program has established cross-university coordination in curriculum co-development, credit equivalence and recognition, and degree-awarding standards, creating a stable and efficient mechanism for joint talent cultivation.

For Chinese students, the program offers opportunities to study European business practices in Rome and to explore American businesses and the global economy in Washington. Through immersive learning experiences, students gain firsthand understanding of different market systems and develop the skills needed to participate in global economic governance and international trade cooperation.
For international students, the program provides the opportunity to take RUC’s “Understanding China” courses and visit cultural landmarks, and engage with major national platforms for opening-up, including the China International Import Expo. Through firsthand experiences and direct engagement, students gain a deeper understanding of contemporary China.
