On Dec. 15, RUC VP DU Peng met with visiting Korea Communications Commission (KCC) and Standing Committee Member GAO Sanxi. LI Chengyuan, Counselor of the Korean Minister to China (Science, Technology, Information and Communication / Broadcasting and Television), and GAO Yonghe, Director of Korea Innovation Center in China, also joined. The two sides discussed how to deepen the exchange and cooperation between Renmin University of China and the KCC.
VP DU Peng welcomed the visit of GAO Sanxi. He introduced the exchange and cooperation between Renmin University of China and universities and institutions in South Korea. In addition to regular short-term exchange courses for students, RUC actively supports scholars to conduct academic exchanges, and hired a number of South Korean scholars to teach at RUC for short-term courses and also the regular semester. With the support of the Korea Higher Education Foundation, scholars from Renmin University go to South Korea each year for academic exchanges. Renmin University of China is willing to actively expand exchanges and cooperation with the KCC in various disciplines and welcomes GAO to visit again.
GAO Sanxi expressed appreciation for the warm welcome by RUC. He said the KCC has been promoting the development of broadcasting and communications in South Korea with an open mind. With the expansion of academic exchanges between China and South Korea, exchanges between undergraduates and post-doctoral students have deepened as the two countries exchanged their experiences and provided strong human resources support for the development of both countries in various fields. The Korea Communications Commission hopes to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with RUC, especially with the School of Journalism, in the fields of radio, television, new media and the Internet.
KCC belongs to the government structure of the office, mostly in charge of policy and development. Members aim to preserve the freedom of radio and communications and provide integration services for radio and communications.
