The school now has 27 full-time teachers and 143 students. The doctoral program of "Educational Economics and Management" has been rated as a key discipline in Beijing, and the secondary discipline of "Educational Economics and Management" is one of the university's "Double First Class" construction programs. A number of research and teaching platforms have been established and constructed successively, such as "Beijing Research Base on the Rule of Law in Education - Renmin University of China Branch", Education Legislation Research Base (Renmin University of China), Research Center for Elementary Education, Education Research Center for Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, and Cultivation Base for famous presidents of the Ministry of Education's "Two Famous Plan", etc.
As one of the first few universities to
develop the discipline of psychology in China, RUC has trained the first batch
of psychology graduate students early in 1950s. In 1985, the Department of
Social Psychology was established, enrolling master's and doctoral students in
social psychology. Master's and doctoral programmes in social psychology were
officially established in 2004. Five years later, in order to further
consolidate its academic competitiveness and refine its academic layout, the Department
of Psychology was established as one major branch of the School of Science.
Currently, there are five master's degree programs in the department:Applied Psychology, Basic Psychology, Social Psychology,
Psycholinguistics and Applied Psychology. Besides, we have two doctoral

distinctive research directions: Ethnic and Cultural Psychology, Psychosocial
Service System Research, Crisis and Health Promotion Research, and Emotion and
Brain Research, among which Ethnic and Cultural Psychology represents the core
competency. The discipline centers around the approach of “Psychology + Data science",
striving to build interdisciplinary psychology discipline featuring a
