On Dec. 7th, RUC held a ceremony to award 2016-2017 students with Guanghua scholarships. RUC Vice President and Education Fund Vice Chairman and Deputy Secretary DU Peng, as well as Guanghua Education Fund Executive President CHEN Chenchuan presented the awards. Education Fund Vice Secretary WANG Zhicheng and a little over 200 students were in attendance.
Student Vice Director TANG Jie hosted the Scholarship Ceremony and introduced this year’s Guanghua Scholarship recipients. 60 undergraduates and 143 graduate students were chosen from the 2016-2017 school year. LUO Jianhui said in his speech that he hoped the winners would show their gratitude and be dedicated to serving the nation and actively carry forward Chinese culture, give back to the school, and give back to the Guanghua Education Fund with outstanding achievements.
During DU Peng’s speech, he recalled when he received his Guanghua scholarship in 1990 and shared his experience and how much it encouraged him to continue to work harder. DU Peng, on behalf of RUC, thanked Guanghua Education Fund for their support, and congratulated the students that were awarded, hoping that all of them cherish this honor, and experience the support and encouragement from the school and society behind this award, the generosity of Guanghua Education Fund to preserving traditional Chinese culture, and that they continue to study harder, strive harder, to contribute to society and the nation as a whole.
Guanghua Scholarships are a long-established scholarship of RUC for students which they can apply for once each year which is presented to the nation’s most talented individuals to encourage students to work hard and continue their studies.
