Prof. QI Pengfei was born in August, 1964. He holds a PhD in Law and is a member of the Communist Party of China. Prof. QI currently servs as the Vice Chairperson of the University Council of Renmin University of China (RUC). He is one of the first batch of talents for the "Hundred Talents Project for Academic Theory" of Beijing Municipality, a program supported by the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University. He is also one of the candidates for the "New Century Support Program for Outstanding Talents." QI also enjoys the Special Government Allowance from the State Council. QI is the Vice Chairperson of the University Council, RUC. He also serves concurrently as the secretary-general of the Teaching Guidance Committee of Marxism Theory of the Ministry of Education. Up to now, QI has served as deputy director of the Department of History of the Communist Party of China at Renmin University of China, deputy dean and dean of the School of Marxism Studies, director of the High-end Center for Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Higher Educational Institutions in Beijing, editor-in-chief of the magazine Teaching and Research.
His main research areas are the history of CPC, the history of PRC. the modern and contemporary history of China and the history of contemporary Chinese diplomacy and the theory and practice concerning the “One Country, Two Systems” initiative. He has conducted more than 10 national and provincial research projects. Besides, he has published nearly 20 academic books and over 200 papers. QI has won many awards at various levels for his excellent teaching achievements, including the first prize of Beijing Education and Teaching Achievement Award (for Higher Education) and the Beijing Higher Education Quality Textbook Award.
