On April 18th, the first provincial competition of the 12th Lan Qiao Cup Collegiate Programming Contest was held. Renmin University of China School of Information undertook the organization works including registration, training, and competition management.
This year’s contest was held in the intelligent laboratory at the School of Information. The advanced and comfortable conditions of the laboratory provided sufficient guarantee for the competition. More than 30 students from Peking University and Renmin University of China took part in the competition.
Lan Qiao Cup is one of the largest professional computer contests in China. Organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Talent Exchange Center, Lan Qiao Cup encourages independent innovation and engineering practice of the young generation. Contest subjects include programming languages such as Java, C++ and Python. Since 2010, over 25 million outstanding students from more than 1,400 institutions in China have attended the contest. In 2017, Lan Qiao Cup held the first international contest to provide a more open and merged competition platform for the students from different countries. It has become a well-known professional competition domestic and abroad.
RUC School of Information has always been attaching importance to the cultivation of students’ skills in engineering and practice. Every year, many students participate in disciplinary competitions such as ACM, CCSP, Lan Qiao Cup and Information Security Competitions.
