On April 10-11th, the 61st RUC Athletic Games were held at the school stadium. Eight schools were awarded RUC Physical Health Prize at the opening ceremony: Mingli Academy, the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Mathematics, the School of Journalism and Communication, the School of Public Administration, the School of Applied Economics, the School of Arts and the School of Business. As an RUC tradition, six schools had a team competition of rope skipping at the opening ceremony. Winners of the rope skipping competition, the School of Finance, the School of Business and the School of Statistics, were awarded by the school leaders. At the end of the opening ceremony, RUC President Prof. LIU Wei announced the opening of the 61st RUC Athletic Games. This year, the athletes and spectators had witnessed a new RUC athletic record! LI Ruijun from the School of Journalism and Communication broke the men’s 400m RUC record in 2003, hitting the 400m finish line in 50.33 seconds. After fierce competitions, teams from the following schools won the top eight team scores: the School of Journalism and Communication, the School of Business, the School of Finance, Suzhou Campus, the School of Public Administration, the School of Economics, Law School, and the School of Statistics. The school teams winning the Sports Ethics Awards are the School of Business, the School of Finance, the School of Economics, the School of Public Administration, the School of Information Resource Management, the School of Applied Economics, Mingli Academy and the School of Agricultural Economics & Rural Development.
