The 31st FISU World University Games opened at Chengdu, Sichuan Province on the evening of July 28th, gathering university students worldwide.
The FISU World University Games is an international multi-sport event second only to the Olympics, representing the highest level of athletic proficiency among university students worldwide. With over 60 years of history, it has witnessed memorable moments of perseverance and valor, and has given life to countless stories about facing challenges and realizing dreams.
The Chengdu FISU Games aims to build a platform of fair competition, mutual understanding, communication, and friendship. Student-athletes will compete in 269 events across 18 sports.
Yang Hongfei and Jiang Yiran, students from Renmin University of China (RUC), are among the Chinese delegation and will compete in the women’s 400m and the women’s 4×400m relay.
The Chinese delegation consists of more than 700 people. Four hundred and eleven student-athletes from over 100 universities in 25 provinces (or autonomous regions and municipalities) will compete in all 18 sports.
