RUC Students participate in a workshop at Cambridge University

A 10-member study group composed of Masters, PhDs and MPAs from the School of Public Administration and Policy of Renmin University of China (RUC) was invited to participate in the international workshop at Newnham College of the University of Cambridge from July 24th to 26th.


The theme of this workshop is "Behavioral science and urban-rural development in developing countries", which aims to share the results of the research project "Nudging towards a better financial future: applying behavioural insights in the development of financial systems in rural China". It is also carried out to provide a platform for researchers and policy makers to learn, interact and practice the application of behavioral interventions in land management and public policy.

Professor Lizieri and Professor Bao Xiaohui from the Department of Land Management of the University of Cambridge designed a teaching program for the workshop, which integrates theory, case study application, and internet survey, so that the participants can understand the application of behavioral science in areas such as land management and public policy making.

The students took an active part in the classroom discussions and interactions with scholars from all over the world, and reported the results of their team projects on the topics including Sustainable Advocacy for Public Transportation CampaignsPromoting Wellness through Mobile AppsAchieving a Healthy Lifestyle via Online OrderingNudge a little: Decision-making in Urban Redevelopment Strategies”, showing solid academic skills.

The workshop provided an opportunity for RUC students to learn about the international cutting-edge researches. It also deepens the cooperative relationship between RUC and the University of Cambridge in the field of teaching and scientific research.
