The 2023 Archival Data Production and Education Integration Conference was held in Ningbo, Zhejiang from October 13th to 15th, under the guidance of the International Council on Archives, Renmin University of China (RUC), Ningbo Municipal People's Government, School of information resource management of RUC, Ningbo Municipal Archives Bureau and Ningbo Municipal Archives.
The theme of this conference is “Archival Data Innovation and Development for Digital China Strategy”. About 500 experts and scholars gathered in Ningbo to share the latest theoretical insights and practical experience of archival data governance and management, discuss the path and methods of the integration of archival data production and education, and look forward to the prospect of archival modernization.
The conference opened on the morning of the 14th. Xie Jinwei, Deputy Director of the Central Archives; Feng Huiling, former Executive Vice President of RUC; Du Peng, Vice President of RUC; Chen Zuyu, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences; Gao Qingfeng, Vice Chairman of Ningbo CPPCC; Liu Zuochen, President of Encyclopedia of China Publishing House; Li Xin, Deputy Secretary-General of the World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for Asia and the Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO, and other leading guests attended the opening ceremony.
Sun Lifeng, Deputy Director of the General Office of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee, presided over the opening ceremony. Josée Kirps, Chairman of the International Archives Committee, Xie Jinwei, Du Peng and Gao Qingfeng, delivered speeches.
Subsequently, the establishment ceremony of the Archival Data Production and Education Integration Platform (CAIE-36) was held. The platform is an integrated development platform of archival data production and education, which is advocated by the School of Information Resource Management of RUC and composed of 36 units, including universities, archives and enterprises.
The opening ceremony was followed by the 2023 Archival Data Production and Education Integration Summit Forum. Feng Huiling, Chen Zuyu, Li Xin, Xu Weiwan, Director of the Shanghai Municipal Archives Bureau and Yu Jie, Curator of Zhejiang Archives, delivered the keynote speeches.
The forum was hosted by Professor Liu Yuenan, Dean of the School of Information Resource Management of RUC. Feng Huiling, Chen Zuyu, Li Xin, Xu WeiWan, and Yu Jie, gave keynote speeches. On the afternoon of the 14th, three parallel forums of the 2023 Archival Data Production and Education Integration Conference were held simultaneously.
The opening ceremony of the 13th China Electronic Document Management Forum, co-sponsored by the School of Information Resource Management of RUC, the Ningbo Municipal Archives Bureau and the Ningbo Municipal Archives, was officially opened in Ningbo on the morning of the 15th, with the theme of “Archival Data Innovation and Development for Digital China Strategy”.
Participants said that the conference for archival data production and education integration, personnel training, industry development, electronic document management, data archiving, intelligent applications and other aspects of the discussion, for archival practice has guiding significance.
