The delegation of Buenos Aires University, Argentina, visited Renmin University of China (RUC) on Dec. 5th. Zheng Xinye, Vice President of RUC, met with Patricio Conejero Ortiz, Deputy President of Buenos Aires University, Argentina, and the Dean of the Confucius Institute at the university. Also present were Andres Rabosto, a Latin America-China observer at the university, and Zhang Qi, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute.
Zheng Xinye extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the history and academic strengths of RUC. He expressed that there is great potential for cooperation between China and Argentina, and the two universities can leverage their disciplinary advantages to share academic resources in areas such as sustainable development, digital economy, energy transformation, food security, and bilateral relations.
He expressed the hope for long-term cooperation with Buenos Aires University to benefit faculty and students from both institutions, and contribute to the economic and social development of both countries, as well as the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Patricio Conejero Ortiz introduced the global cooperation initiatives of Buenos Aires University and the Latin America-China observer program. He expressed the university's willingness to strengthen research cooperation with RUC in higher education, scientific innovation, energy transformation, and other areas. He proposed promoting personnel exchanges, jointly organizing academic conferences, establishing a more direct and open dialogue mechanism, and cultivating talents who have a better understanding of the social conditions and public sentiment in both countries.
The meeting was also attended by Lin Yuan, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs; Zhou Ming, Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Languages; Cui Shoujun, Professor at the School of International Studies, Director of the Latin American Research Center, and Vice Dean of the School of Global Governance; and Xie Linyu, Professor at the School of Applied Economics.
