Recently, the "Pioneer of Art
Management" program, a Sino-European High-level Art Program for the Cultivation
of Innovative Talents in art management and the "Pioneer of Art Road",
an international training program for New Era High-level Art Talents
Cultivation, applied by the School of Arts, RUC, were finally approved as
special programs for art talents cultivation in 2024 by China Scholarship
Council. The success of the two programs marks new breakthrough of the school
in the cultivation of international talents.
The China Scholarship Council special program
for art talents cultivation, as one of the programs funded by the Chinese
authority, mainly aims to provide economic assistance to and standardized
management of Chinese students during their stay in foreign countries. According
to the requirements of the CSC program, the School of Art will, based on the
international talent cultivation cooperation agreements signed with the
first-class universities in Europe and along the "Belt and Road",
select its exemplary graduate students to go to the overseas partner
institutions for communication and study every year. Teachers can also be
selected to carry out academic visits and international research as visiting
scholars in these universities, a move aiming to boost the internationalization
of the school.
The "Pioneer of Art Management"
is a Sino-European High-level Art Program for the Cultivation of Innovative
Talents in art management. This program brings together some of the strongest
disciplines of RUC, including management, finance, communication and law.
Students from these fields can choose the “1+1+1” double master program
co-offered by RUC and few distinguished French universities that are strong in
culture, art and management. The "Pioneer of Art Road" program is an
international training program for New Era High-level Art Talents Cultivation.
The purpose of the program is to better serve the Belt and Road Initiative,
promoting RUC’s cooperation with distinguished universities in Italy, Malaysia,
among other countries along the road in talents cultivation in Art, Fine Arts,
Design, and Music. The program offers financial support for cross-cultural
academic exchanges to go overseas for one semester or one academic year.
In recent years, the School of Arts, RUC,
has strived to boost pragmatic cooperation with the first-class universities in
Europe and along the "Belt and Road" on all fronts by leveraging the
advantages brought by the China-Europa Education Alliance for Humanities and
Arts. The school is also working actively to build platform for international
communication. More measures are also under way to boost its efforts to
cultivate international talents. Currently, RUC has established cooperation
agreement with many distinguished universities across the globe. It has held
many large-scale international forums such as the Sino-French “Global Youth
Multidimensional Dialogue”, the Mingde Art Forum, the China-Europa Education
Forum for Humanities and Arts and the Forum on the Belt and Road of Knowledge.
Thanks to these efforts, the internationalization of the School of Arts, RUC,
in talents cultivation has gained remarkable improvement. The enthusiasm of
students to apply for the exchange programs of distinguished foreign universities
and its success rate have increased remarkably during the pandemic.
Specifically speaking, the number of students enrolled in foreign exchange
programs in 2023 is nearly four times higher than that of 2018, reaching a
historic high. Besides, nearly 50 students of the School of Arts, RUC won
awards in various international music competitions, international design
competitions and other international events. All these achievements bear
witness to the international competitiveness of RUC students and the
international influence of RUC's art.
With a commitment to the philosophy of Art
for the People in education and creation, the School of Arts, RUC has been
devoted to the development of Chinese culture, striving to explore a new path
to cultivate top-notch talents in arts, fully leverage the distinctive role of
arts in integrating foreign culture into Chinese culture and boost
mutual-learning among civilizations, expand its cooperation with major European
countries and countries along the Belt and Silk Road, thus ultimately providing
talents who are capable of presenting the voice, theory and thinking of the
Chinese people to global audience.
