Renmin University of China (RUC) and Bao'an District People's Government of Shenzhen held a signing ceremony for their project cooperation agreement in Shenzhen on January 16.

Lin Shangli, President of RUC, Wang Shourui, Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen City and Secretary of Bao'an District Committee, Zhu Xinkai, Executive Vice President of RUC, Wang Lide, District Governor of Bao'an District People's Government of Shenzhen, Gu Zirong, Standing Committee Member of Bao'an District Committee and Director of District Committee Office, Lian Cong, Deputy District Governor of Bao'an District People's Government of Shenzhen, and others attended the ceremony.

Lin Shangli stated that RUC has a deep cooperation foundation with Shenzhen City. Leveraging its academic research and talent development advantages in the field of philosophy and social sciences, RUC has established the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (Shenzhen). He expressed the hope that both sides can take the signing of the project cooperation agreement as an opportunity to build a long-term, close, and practical strategic cooperation relationship, and promote complementary advantages, resource sharing, mutual benefit, and common development.

Wang Shourui mentioned that Bao'an District has a superior geographical location, rapid economic development, and an increasingly prominent strategic position, with urgent needs in areas such as scientific and technological innovation, think tank construction, and talent aggregation. RUC has a unique position in the field of humanities and social sciences and has a solid cooperation foundation with Shenzhen City. The implementation of this cooperation agreement will promote the comprehensive upgrading of university-district cooperation. He hoped that RUC could fully leverage its disciplinary leadership and academic influence through the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (Shenzhen), injecting strong momentum and providing robust support for the reform and development of the new era economic special zone.

Zhu Xinkai and Wang Lide respectively signed the "Cooperation Agreement on Supporting the Shenzhen Institute of Renmin University of China (School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences, Shenzhen) Project" on behalf of both sides.

Starting from the assistance provided by RUC to Shenzhen University, the two sides have established a solid cooperation foundation and deep cooperation friendship. The establishment of the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (Shenzhen) will also serve as a new starting point to jointly create a new model of collaboration between the city and the university.

The School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (Shenzhen), affiliated with RUC, will initially include research institutions such as the Center for International Rule of Law and Development, the Center for Intellectual Property and Innovation, the Center for Talent Strategy and Governance, the Center for Data Elements and Social Development, the Center for Digital Economy, the Center for Global Policy Coordination, the Center for Government Statistical Modernization, and the National Institute of Finance (Shenzhen).
