Wu Fulai Led a Delegation to Visit Laos, Vietnam and Nepal

From December 13 to 22, Wu Fulai, Vice Chair of the University Council, led a delegation to visit Laos, Vietnam, and Nepal. The delegation successively visited National University of Laos, Souphanovong University, VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Kathmandu University, Tribhuvan University, met with alumni in Laos, Vietnam, and Nepal, and visited the Chinese Embassy in Laos, the Chinese Consulate General in Luang Prabang, Laos, the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, and paid a visit to Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda.

 

On December 14, the delegation visited National University of Laos and the Confucius Institute, met with alumni and learned about the fruitful results of China-Laos cultural exchanges in recent years. The delegation also visited the Chinese Embassy in Laos and was warmly welcomed by Deputy Director Wang Chang.

 


On December 15, the delegation visited Suphanovong University. Wu Fulai said that the cooperation between RUC and Suphanovong University has great potential and hopes to promote practical cooperation between the two universities. In Luang Prabang, the delegation also visited the Chinese Consulate General and was warmly welcomed by Consul General Zhang Sheping.

 

On December 17, the delegation attended the alumni activities in Vietnam, visited alumni representatives in Hanoi. Wu Fulai introduced the latest progress in the university's discipline development, campus construction and other aspects to the alumni, and highly appreciated the contributions made by alumni in their respective fields.

 

On December 18, the delegation visited VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences. On December 19, the delegation visited Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

 


On December 20, the delegation visited Kathmandu University in Nepal. Wu Fulai introduced the construction of disciplines and expressed that RUC is willing to establish cooperation with Kathmandu University in aspects such as student exchanges, summer programs, and co-organizing forums.

 

On December 21, the delegation visited Tribhuvan University, a member of the Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions (ANSO). Both sides expressed their desire to foster cooperation through initiatives such as mutual visits of high-quality faculty, training for key faculty members, and exchange of literature resources.

 


On the same day, the delegation paid a visit to Nepalese Prime Minister Prachanda. The two sides engaged in extensive discussions on cultural and educational exchanges between China and Nepal. They emphasized the vital role of universities as bridges in fostering mutual learning and exchanges between the Chinese and Nepalese civilizations. The discussions aimed at deepening cooperative partnerships and actively establishing a new platform for international academic cooperation.

 

This visit has further strengthened the exchanges between RUC and governments, universities and think tanks of Laos, Vietnam and Nepal, promoted the construction of international cooperation mechanisms of RUC, and is of significance for enhancing RUCs international influence.
