Scott Rozelle, Professor from Stanford University, will give a lecture entitled “Common Prosperity Begins at 0 to 3 Years Old: How the Urban-Rural Divide is One of China’s Biggest Challenges” at 15:30-17:00 on May 13th (Monday).
The lecture is hosted by Qiu Huanguang, Dean of the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development(SAERD) of RUC, and it will be held in Room 930 in the Main Building of Mingde.
Introduction:
Scott Rozelle is an Helen C. Farnsworth Distinguished Professor from Stanford University, and a Senior Researcher of Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI). He is also a life member of the American Economic Association, the American Agricultural and Applied Economics Association, the International Association of Agricultural Economists, and the Econometric Society. Professor Rozelle conducts research mainly in fields of development economics, agricultural economics and resource and environmental economics, and in recent years he has focused on rural education, nutrition and early childhood development. He has published about 400 papers in top international journals such as Nature, Science, American Economic Review and Journal of Economic Literature. He was awarded the Chinese Government Friendship Award (2008), the highest national award given by the Chinese government to foreign experts working in China, the Changjiang Scholar of SAERD of Renmin University of China (2007), and the Lifetime Achievement award of the American Agricultural and Applied Economics Association (2007), etc..
