On August 3rd, the launching ceremony of Renmin University of China and  Baichuan AI Large Model Joint Laboratory was held. 

Feng Shizheng, Vice President of RUC, Du Zhongchao, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Engineering, Wen Jirong, Dean of Gaoling School of Artificial Intelligence, Dou Zhicheng, Vice Dean, Wang Xiaochuan, Founder and CEO of Baichuan AI, Xie Jian and Chen Weipeng, technical co-founders, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Dou Zhicheng.

Feng Shizheng pointed out that the establishment of the Large Model Joint Laboratory by Gaoling School of Artificial Intelligence and Baichuan AI can combine the strength of RUC's first-class scientific research team with Baichuan AI's cutting-edge technology application capabilities. It is hoped that the two sides will rely on the joint laboratory to promote the integration of research in the field of AI represented by large models with industry, social application scenarios and talent training.

Wang Xiaochuan said that at present, the information age has entered the intelligent age. It is the right time for the two sides  to work together in a new organizational form under the new era and focus on the research of the new issues of the era. It is expected that the two sides will produce influential results in industry and academia in the future.

Wen Jirong focused on the development and scientific research achievements of School of Artificial Intelligence. He said that the establishment of joint laboratory with Baichuan AI is expected to be a strong combination to make efforts and achievements in the frontier field of AI.

In the future, RUC and Baichuan AI will leverage the advantages of their respective fields to cooperate in scientific research, achievement transformation and talent training, hoping to make leading breakthroughs in China's large model technology.
