On September 19th, the unveiling ceremony of Fuzhou Research Institute of Renmin University of China(RUC) was held at Minjiang University, marking a new chapter in the cooperation between RUC and Fuzhou City. The ceremony was attended by Guo Ningning, Party Secretary of Fuzhou, Zhang Donggang, Chair of the University Council, Wu Xiande, Mayor of Fuzhou, Song Jianxiao, Vice President of Fujian Academy of Social Sciences, Chen Guolong, Chair of the Council of Fuzhou University, Wu Weiping, Deputy Director of Fujian Provincial Department of Education, Chen Xinjian, President of Industrial Bank, Ye Shiman, Chair of the Council of Minjiang University, and Shu Jiwu, President of Minjiang University. Zheng Xinye, Vice President of RUC, presided over the ceremony.
RUC and Fuzhou City jointly established the Fuzhou Research Institute, which is guided by national strategic needs and oriented to the world. It deeply studies and interprets the vivid practice of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a new era in Fuzhou, continuously promotes the interaction between practical innovation and theoretical innovation, and helps RUC to take a new path to build a world-class university with Chinese characteristics, and promotes the construction of a harmonious and symbiotic Chinese modernization new Fuzhou.
The Fuzhou Research Institute adopts an entity operation mode, with five research centers, including the Institute of Finance, Insurance and Social Governance, the Fuzhou Cross-Strait Integration and National Development Research Institute, the Joint Research Center for General Secretary Xi Jinping's Important Discourse on Education, the Foreign-related Legal Consulting Service Center, the New Era Social Work Consulting Service Center, and the Ecological Civilization Construction Consulting Service Center. It strives to promote the high-quality resources and top scientific research strength of RUC and the unique location advantages and policy advantages of Fuzhou City to fully complement each other, and provide solid talent support and intellectual guarantee for the high-quality development of Fuzhou.
Guo Ningning congratulated the establishment of the institute and expressed gratitude to RUC and all sectors of society for their long-term concern and support for the development of Fuzhou. She said that the institute will focus on deepening theoretical and practical innovation in key areas such as cross-strait integration and national development, financial insurance and social governance, which is in line with the national strategy and the needs of high-quality development and has great significance.
