On December 2nd, Lin Shangli, President of Renmin University of China(RUC), met with Kim Yoo-sik, President of the Korean Academy of Choi Chong-hyon and his delegation.
Lin Shangli stated that RUC has a strong cooperative relationship with the Korean Academy of Choi Chong-hyon. The two sides have established the Asia Research Center and created brands such as the International Confucian Forum and the World Rule of Law Forum, dedicated to exploring new models of academic and cultural exchange.
He proposed that both sides work together to upgrade the mechanisms and systems of the Asia Research Center, evolving from an organization led by Chinese scholars to one that includes the participation of young scholars from Asia and various countries. The focus would be on Confucian culture research between China and East Asian nations, creating a platform for exchange and cooperation among Asian youth scholars, strengthening interactions with top research institutions worldwide, and building a world-class think-tank platform with both academic depth and international influence.
Kim Yoo-sik said that the Korean Academy of Choi Chong-hyon has established a solid relationship with RUC and has maintained close cooperation. The two sides have organized significant events such as the International Confucian Forum, continuing the fine tradition of Sino-Korean academic cooperation. He looked forward to deepening their cooperation and strengthening their alliance, sincerely inviting more Chinese scholars to Korea through the International Scholarly Exchange Program (ISEF) to explore the possibility of integrating the program with the Asia Research Center, and to elevate their partnership to a higher level.
The visit was also attended by Mr. Yoon Chong-hyun, Head of the International Academic Group IV of the Korean Academy of Choi Chong-hyon, and Ms. Yoo Da-jeong, Deputy Manager of the International Academic Group I. Representatives from the Research Office, International Cooperation and Exchange Office, School of Philosophy, School of International Cultural Exchange, and School of Law of RUC also participated in the meeting.
