On February 9th, Renmin University of China(RUC) and Suzhou Municipal Government signed a deepening cooperation agreement, and Suzhou School of Artificial Intelligence of RUC was unveiled, opening a new chapter in school-local cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Zhang Donggang, Chair of the University Council, Lin Shangli, President of RUC, Zhu Xinkai, Executive Vice President of RUC, Liu Pengzhi, Honorary Principal of High School Affiliated to RUC, Liu Xiaotao, Member of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, Jiang Yong, Director of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, Wu Qingwen, Mayor of Suzhou, Gu Haidong, Executive Vice Mayor of Suzhou, Shen Mi, Member of the Standing Committee of Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, and Yu Yu, Secretary General of Suzhou Municipal Government. Zheng Xinye, Vice President of RUC, presided over the meeting. Zhu Xinkai and Gu Haidong signed the Agreement on behalf of both parties.
Zhang Donggang expressed his gratitude to the Suzhou Government for its strong support to RUC. He said that RUC and Suzhou City have long been working together to serve China's modernization and jointly build a new platform for exchanges and mutual learning between China and foreign civilizations. The signing of this cooperation agreement is another new starting point for both parties to deepen comprehensive cooperation. RUC will work with Suzhou City to promote new development with new reforms and work together to add momentum and vitality to China's modernization.
Liu Xiaotao expressed his gratitude to RUC for its concern and support for Suzhou's development. He said that the signing of this agreement marks a new stage in the cooperation between the two sides. He hopes that RUC will continue to play its unique advantages, deepen cooperation with Suzhou in humanities and economy, artificial intelligence, smart governance, international exchanges, etc.
According to the agreement, both parties will give full play to their respective advantages, jointly build a highland of integrated reform of education, science and technology, and talents by establishing new colleges, creating a highland of talent gathering, innovating talent training models, and establishing an open exchange platform, and work together to build the Suzhou Campus into a new strategic platform for the development of RUC, and fully serve Suzhou Industrial Park to build an open and innovative world-class high-tech park.
Suzhou School of Artificial Intelligence will focus on technology application and empowering regional economy, and form a staggered development pattern with Gaoling School of Artificial Intelligence of Zhongguancun Campus, which focuses on theoretical innovation and humanities intersection, and strive to build a platform integrating government, industry, academia, research and application, to provide strong support for cultivating and developing new quality productivity.
