Release Conference for the new book of “China’s Economic Outlook” Series Held

On March 1, the Release Conference for “China’s Economic Outlook” Series: “Prospective Research on the 15th Five-Year Plan for China’s Economic Development” was successfully held. The event was presided over by Zheng Xinye, Vice President of Renmin University of China (RUC).
Lin Shangli pointed out that the research report released this time leverages the strengths of RUC in applied economics. It addresses important theoretical and practical issues related to national economic and social development in the process of Chinese modernization, representing strategic, forward-looking, and scholarly applied research. RUC will take the release of this research report as an opportunity to further advance the research initiatives of “China’s Economic Outlook” series.
The “China’s Economic Outlook” research team released the key findings of the “Prospective Research on the 15th Five-Year Plan for China’s Economic Development.” As the inaugural report of the “China’s Economic Outlook” series, “Prospective Research on the 15th Five-Year Plan for China’s Economic Development” builds on a brief assessment of the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan. It focuses on macroeconomic development goals, the cultivation of new quality productivity, and high-quality development. The report provides forward-looking predictions on key areas such as economic growth, employment, national income distribution, regional coordinated development, rural revitalization, infrastructure, and the equalization of public services during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
Yang Zhiyong stated that “Prospective Research on the 15th Five-Year Plan for China’s Economic Development” is grounded in the current national conditions and oriented toward future development. It combines academic depth with practical value, providing forward-looking and strategic intellectual support for the formulation of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan.
Huang Hanquan stated that the formulation and implementation of the Five-Year Development Plan is an important approach to China’s governance. The 15th Five-Year Plan period is a critical phase for establishing the core framework of Chinese modernization. He expressed hope that RUC would further deepen related research and promote the application of research outcomes, contributing more to the advancement of Chinese modernization.
During the roundtable forum, topics such as the prospects for China’s economic development in 2025, food security and coordinated urban-rural development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the economic development landscape of China during the 15th Five-Year Plan, opportunities and challenges in developing strategic emerging industries during the 15th Five-Year Plan, and the outlook for China’s economic development during the 15th Five-Year Plan were discussed.
The “China’s Economic Outlook” research series, supported by the School of Applied Economics and the National Economic Disciplines Group, conducts forward-looking and scholarly applied research on the medium- and long-term trends of China’s economic development and the orientation of macroeconomic policies. The research outcomes will be publicly released annually in the form of the RUC’s “China’s Economic Outlook” series reports, contributing the RUC’s insights and strength to the high-quality development of China’s economy.
