Vice President Zheng Xinye Met with the Korean Delegation at RUC
Vice President Zheng Xinye of Renmin University of China (RUC) met with the Korean delegation attending the 8th meeting of the China-Japan-Korea University Exchange and Cooperation Promotion Committee on the afternoon of February 17th.
During the meeting, Vice President Zheng reviewed the achievements of the exchanges between RUC and Korean universities since establishing diplomatic relations between China and South Korea. He highlighted that RUC has established partnerships with 25 Korean universities and institutions and has actively engaged in various forms of cooperation, including personnel exchanges through the “CAMPUS Asia” program. He expressed his gratitude to the delegation for their continuous support of RUC’s exchanges with Korea and hoped that both sides could continue to promote exchanges and cooperation among Chinese and Korean youth. He also suggested joint research on global issues such as energy security and food security and invited young Korean scholars to participate in RUC’s “Qiushi Scholars” program for academic exchanges and research collaboration.
Lee Kyung-hee, Secretary-General of the Korean Council for University Education (KUCE), said the delegation’s visit aimed to strengthen cooperation in higher education and global education projects between China and South Korea. He emphasized that RUC is an ideal partner for the association and its member universities in global education projects and looked forward to further collaboration with RUC in the “CAMPUS Asia” program and bilateral educational exchanges.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the School of Law at RUC for a symposium. The delegation included Vice President Choi Hoon-sik of Sungkyunkwan University, Vice President Nam Ho-soo of Dongseo University, Vice President Lee Jae-woo of Pusan National University, and other officials from the Korean Council for University Education (KUCE), the Korean Ministry of Education, and Sungkyunkwan University. They were accompanied by representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the School of Law at RUC.
