On Oct. 22, 2012, Jan Peter Balkenende, who served as Prime Minister of the Netherlands from July 22, 2002 until October 14, 2010, visited Renmin University of China to speak to the students of the School of Economics about the Eurozone and its relationship with China. The Prime Minister’s focuses are governance issues and corporate responsibility, having taken a position as partner in Ernst & Young after retiring from active political duty. The Prime Minister praised the relationship between Renmin University and Erasmus University, and believes that the Euro currency will persist as the Euro countries compromise and stick together.
