Introduction:

Smail Rapic, Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Cologne, Germany, and Professor of Philosophy at the University of Wuppertal. He has served as a visiting researcher at the Søren Kierkegaard Research Centre at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and the Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. His main research areas are practical philosophy and modern philosophy. His monographs include Cognition and Language Use: Lichtenberg and British Empiricism, Ethical Self-Understanding: Kierkegaard’s Dispute with Kantian Ethics and Hegelian Philosophy of Law, Subjective Freedom and Social System: Positions of Social Critical Theory from Rousseau to the Habermas-Luhmann Debate. He has edited works such as Beyond Capitalism and Engels in the 21st Century.
