The final match of Renmin University of China’s (RUC) 2024–2025 Spring Semester Men's Premier Football League was held on the evening of April 2nd.

The tournament began on March 6th, with 17 teams from Schools and Departments competing across 18 matchdays and 61 games. After weeks of intense competition, the School of Business and the School of Journalism advanced to the championship match.

RUC President Lin Shangli attended the event and kicked off the match, while Vice President Zheng Xinye presided over the proceedings. The final was officiated by Li Pengda, a national-level referee certified by the Chinese Football Association.

President Lin emphasized that sports are an essential part of university culture and a key reflection of youth spirit. He encouraged students to showcase their skills and build friendships through sports, strengthening their bodies, sharpening their minds, and growing in capability and character.

The final match featured fast-paced transitions and tactical coordination, highlighting both technical skill and team spirit. Ultimately, the School of Business claimed the championship title with a 3–0 victory over the School of Journalism.

Awards were presented by the head of the P.E. Department to the winning teams, as well as to outstanding individual performers, including “Best Striker,” “Best Goalkeeper,” and “Outstanding Referee.”

Representatives from the Office of Science and Engineering, the School of Business, the School of Journalism, and the P.E. Department attended the match.

The Men’s Football League is a long-standing athletic tradition at RUC. The tournament follows a tiered competition structure, with Division B matches held during the fall semester to determine the top three teams eligible for promotion. In the spring semester, Division A hosts the top-tier league, while the bottom three teams face relegation to Division B for the following academic year.
