Speaker's Profile:
Tang Liguo, holds a Ph.D. in History from Peking University and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Niigata University, Japan. He is a professor at the Department of History, Peking University. Currently, he serves as the director of the Northeast Asia Research Institute at Peking University and the vice president of the Chinese Society of Japanese History. He has authored "Bushido and Japan's Modernization Transformation" (Beijing Normal University Press, 2010), "Between Military Science and Confucianism: On the Japanese Modernization Pioneer Yoshida Shoin" (Social Sciences Academic Press, November 2016); translated "The Formation of Modern Chinese Knowledge" (The Commercial Press, 2016), "Thoughts from Japan" (Sanlian Bookstore, 2022, co-translated), and edited the historical materials collection "The Series of Materials on Japanese Aggression Decision-Making: Ideological Warfare and Cultural Propaganda" (2018), etc.
