Renmin-Queen’s Master of Finance Program Open Day was host in Renmin University of China on Nov, 23rd. Representatives from both sides including Canadian Ambassador to China Zhao Pu and Vice President of RUC Yi Zhihong attended this event. The Open Day attracted more than 100 participants who are interested in finance and over 20 media were on the spot. D16T9555 Renmin-Queen’s Master of Finance Program is jointly run by Hanqing Advanced Institute of Economics and Finance and Business school of Queen’s University in Canada. For RUC, it is also the first international program in finance that has been approved. Canada’s Governor General David Johnston witnessed the signing ceremony. Prof. Chen Yulu, the President of RUC, and Canadian Ambassador to China Zhao Pu had a talk before the information session. 1 The information session was divided into two parts, speeches by the guests and communication. Canadian Ambassador to China Zhao Pu, Vice President of RUC Yi Zhihong, Ontario government representative Dr. Song Yijun, Dean of the business school in Queen’s University Prof. David Saunders and Executive Dean of Hanqing Advanced Institute Prof. Liang Jing all delivered speeches. Ambassador Zhao Pu implied in his speech that Renmin-Queen’s Master of Finance Program is a good example of the cooperation between China and Canada and means a lot for the two countries. He greeted everyone in Chinese and said he had witnessed how the cooperation fruited and would like to attend the graduation ceremony of the first students.   V2 好ice President of RUC Yi Zhihong said both universities have profound academic basis and this program reinfores the two universities's strength . 02 Executive Dean of Hanqing Advanced Institute Prof. Liang Jing recalled the efforts of both universities in setting up the program and expressed gratitude to thoes who gave supports from all walks of life. In the introduction and communication session, Prof. Wang Yi from Queen’s University introduced the Renmin-Queen’s Master of Finance Program. Master of Finance program in Queen’s University was first set up in Toronto. The strict entrance criterion and excellent curriculum setting have made it the hottest master program of finance in Canada. Renmin-Queen’s Master of Finance Program has the same curriculum setting as that in Toronto. The one-year program is mainly targeted at on-the-job students and outstanding graduates. The students have to finish ten courses, all of which are taught by professors from Hanqing Advanced Institute and Queen’s University in RUC. After passing all the courses, students will get the master degree of finance issued by Queen’s University of Canada. Queen’s University was founded in Kingston, Canada in 1841. It has topped the list in word-of-mouth in the college ranking released by the Global and Mail (the second largest daily newspaper in Canada). The Business School in Queen’s University is one of the best business schools globally and is acknowledged by world-class rating agencies.
