RUC’s Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies Holds High-level Dialogue on “One Belt, One Road”

st, a high-level dialogue meeting on China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative convened in Beijing. The meeting, which focused on the different countries along the so-called “Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21
st-century Maritime Silk Road,” was jointly sponsored by the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, the Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council, and Renmin University's Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies. Dignitaries from Pakistan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Finland and other countries attended the meeting.

At the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council and former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Surakiart Sathirathai, cited a famous Chinese idiom about about the supreme virtuousness of water and how it brings benefits to the multitudes along its banks. He related the idea of bringing benefits for many to the "One Belt, One Road" initiative proposed by XI Jinping in 2013.
