2015.12.23
On the evening of December 20
th, the dance drama “Dream of the Maritime Silk Road” was performed at RUC’s Mingde Auditorium. This was the dance troupe’s first stop back in China after performing at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, and EU Headquarters in Brussels. Apart from performing at RUC, the Chinese dance troupe also gave shows at Beijing’s Guo’an Theater, Tsinghua University, and the Central Party School.
The Mingde Auditorium was packed last Friday night, as the troupe enchanted its audience with a dazzling show of extravagant storytelling through dance and acting. RUC Chairwoman JIN Nuo and Vice President HONG Dayong joined hundreds of students for the evening’s entertainment.
The story of the dance drama is based on an earlier work from the 1990s, which also took the Maritime Silk Road as its backdrop. Fujian Song and Dance Theatre rearranged the work as a full-length stage dance drama, the first of its kind to take the One Belt One Road initiative as its theme.
