Xi’an Alumni Association Holds Alumni Representative Congress and Leadership Transition Meeting

th of January, the Xi’an RUC Alumni Association convened the third Alumni Representative Congress and Leadership Transition Meeting. RUC University Council Vice Chairman ZHENG Shuiquan attended the meeting, where he congratulated the new Association President, gave a report on the developments at RUC over 2016, and welcomed the Alumni to attend RUC’s 80
th anniversary celebration in 2017.

Vice Chairman ZHENG began by announcing that 2017 was RUC’s 80
th anniversary. He stated that the achievements of the university are based in the care and support of its students past and present, and the prestige of the university is founded in the motive force of all the staff and students. Today, RUC has alumni all over the world, and the RUC depends on you as a solid foundation. The pragmatism, earnest disposition, and hard work of you in all your specialist areas, making great contributions and putting your talents to use, contributes to the reputation of the university. RUC eagerly awaits your return, so you can reunite with your friends and remember the good times; now that the celebrations of 2017 are approaching I hope that all of you who have supported RUC over the years will come and participate in the celebration and be part of RUC’s future.

Vice Chairman ZHENG then continued by stating that Yan’an in Shaanxi is the birthplace of RUC, that people from RUC have a close relationship with Shaanxi. The Xi’an RUC Alumni Association was established on the 23
rd of April 2005, being the first RUC Alumni Association in Shaanxi Province, and now has over 4000 members. Over the last 10 years, the Xi’an Alumni Association has brought together alumni from all over Shaanxi, where it works hard to help alumni maintain contact with their alma mater, contributes to the development of Shaanxi’s local economy, and also has a significant role in the preservation of the original RUC site, the Northern Shaanxi College.
During the meeting, Philosophy graduate from 1982 DANG Rui was selected to be the new Association President. During his speech he expressed his thanks to his alma mater as well as his fellow alumni for their support.
