On the 12^th of January, RUC University Council Chairwoman JIN Nuo and Vice Chairman ZHENG Shuiquan met with former RUC President HUANG Da, and former University Council Chairman MA Shaomeng, so as to deliver their sincere new year’s wishes, and also filled them in on the latest developments at the University. During the meeting, former President HUANG reflected on his experiences of working as University President and also his experiences teaching economics, noting his approval for the recent positive developments at the university, expressing hope that the staff and students would continue their excellent work and breathe new life into the university. Chairwoman JIN enquired about former President HUANG’s life and health, and then briefed him on the progress of the task of finding first class professors so as to raise the standard of the university. She then wished former President HUANG happiness, health, and longevity, thanking him for his consistent care and support for the university. Also present was Dean GUO Qingwang of the RUC School of Finance. Former Chairman MA then noted that RUC is the first university created by the CCP under the new model, and thus it holds a special place amongst tertiary institutions in China, and he hopes that the University will continue to display its unique character and tradition so as do bring about even more great achievements.
