Chairwoman JIN Nuo and Delegation Visit Hebei Dachang Hui Autonomous County

On the 17th of February, RUC Chairwoman JIN Nuo and executive vice Chairman ZHANG Jianming travelled to Dachang Hui autonomous county in Hebei province, and during the visit met with the county’s Party secretary GU Zhenghai, and deputy secretary LIU Baowang.
The meeting began with Chairwoman JIN expressing her thanks at the support that Dachang county had given to Renmin University, also praising the county’s unique culture, and its potential for future development. She informed those in attendance that this year RUC will be celebrating its eightieth anniversary, and that over its years in operation RUC has revealed three key strengths: it has proven fundamental to China’s state building; it is a leading figure in humanities and social sciences among institutions of higher learning; and it is a key site for study and research into Marxism. She concluded, saying that RUC has strong and stable existing ties with Hebei province, and it is hoped that from today onwards both sides can continue to expand cooperation on this strong foundation, to actively develop new strategic partnerships, further exchanges, and seek new collaborative opportunities, to the benefit of both parties.
Secretary GU expressed a warm welcome to Chairwoman JIN, and then gave her a brief rundown on recent developments in the county such as infrastructure projects, environmental remediation, and industrial projects. He pointed out that Dachang county has a beautiful natural environment, its people are honest and easy-going, and it has many unique cultural customs. In the future we welcome the opportunity to be part of the Jing-Jin-Ji and Beijing hub projects, and will look to developing cultural and tourism industries, so as to attain the target of improving living standards. Dachang county looks forward to the opportunity for further cooperation and exchange with RUC, so that we can develop together.
Prior to the meeting, Chairwoman JIN went on a tour of Dacheng city, taking in the city planning exhibition, Wuhuan park, the film and television innovation park, and Dachang people’s temple.
