On April 12, RUC Chairwoman JIN Nuo met with President of Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier Patrick Gilli and delegation. RUC Sino-French Institute Dean Jean-François VERGNAUD and Sino-French Institute teaching coordinator, as well as Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier Professor accompanied the visit.
RUC Chairwoman JIN Nuo extended a warm welcome to the Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier delegation. She expressed that Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier was a founding member of Sino-French Institute. She represented RUC and extended her gratitude to the University for their continued support in the Sino-French Institute at RUC and thanked especially the teachers that were often sent to Suzhou and management team.
President of Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier Patrick Gilli expressed that Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier is committed in helping to run the RUC Sino-French Institute, and will continue to offer its support as the two universities deepen their cooperation. After nearly five years of construction, the both universities have already built a solid foundation for the French language and economic management majors, and continue to invest in high quality education resources, exploration and communications, human resource management, philosophy, history and other disciplines of cooperation to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between teachers of China and France.
RUC Chairwoman JIN Nuo stated, "We attach great importance to our cooperation and friendship with Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier. RUC Sino-French Institute has accumulated rich managerial experience, and our joint cooperation has been very fruitful." In June 2016, a series of events were held in Paris, France including "The Third Meeting of China-France High-level People-to-People Dialogue", a part of the "China-France Higher Education Forum", where the Sino-French Institute at RUC won a China-France cooperation award of excellence. China's Vice Premier LIU Yandong awarded the medal. In November of the same year, China and France signed a new cooperation agreement, marking the success of the Sino-French Institute entering the second school cycle. Both parties will further discuss the next steps in cooperation, developing academic certifications, and combine strengths in respective academic disciplines to expand even more programs of international cooperation and deepen their ties.
RUC International Office Director ZHANG Xiaojing, RUC International Deputy Director LI Zhenshi, Suzhou Campus Secretary of the Party Committee and International School, Director of the Sino-French Institute ZHU Xinkai, and others attended the visit.
Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier Patrick Gilli and delegation met with the RUC Philosophy Department, History Institute, School of Labor and Human Resources, to discuss the development of teacher and student exchange programs with RUC Sino-French Institute.
