On June 15, the Communist Youth League Beijing Committee, Beijing Volunteer Services League hosted the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) allowing young volunteers to welcome in the Winter Olympics with a series of events featuring different topics. Beijing Youth League Secretary XIONG Zhuo and volunteer representatives from 28 colleges and universities came together to the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation to participate in activities. The Conference summarized the extensive work done by the volunteers and the volunteer services rendered by the collective and commended them for their work. RUC’s 2017 Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation won the UNESCO Award, and School of Economics 2015 Master’s Degree Candidate ZHANG Kaining, and University of International Relations 2014 Undergraduate ZHANG Zhishi were presented with awards for Excellence in Volunteering at the BRF. RUC also presented 100 students with a Certificate for Volunteering Services at BRF.
On May 14-15, BRF was held in Beijing. During the Forum, RUC’s 100 volunteers helped to manage the general office affairs, financial affairs, act as liaisons between the financial affairs, providing logistical support to five different sectors, and six different positions. In total, volunteer hours surpassed 6484 hours. During BRF, the Youth League Committee, volunteers, and Youth Volunteer Association carried out the work in fulfilling requests, and worked well together as a team to provide great professional services, in receiving both Chinese and foreign guests with warmth and sincerity and upholding RUC’s reputation for excellence.
