Exchange Activity with The World Health Organization and UNAIDS Was Held in Renmin University of China

On October 19th, the second UN Job Fair -- a special exchange activity with the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNAIDS was held in Renmin University of China. The event was sponsored by China Scholarship Council and organized by the School of Global Governance, Renmin University of China. Professor DU Peng, vice President of Renmin University of China and Dean of the School of Global Governance, congratulated the event on behalf of Renmin University of China. Professor DU stressed that the School of Global Governance of RUC will continue to strengthen cooperation with international organizations, and to cultivate more outstanding talents for creating a community of shared future for mankind. During the interaction with the World Health Organization, Mr. Hans Bernhard Willmann from WHO first introduced the value and work of the WHO, and the efforts WHO has made to combat with the COVID – 19. Then he introduced the internship positions and general career paths at the WHO. He encouraged students to explore more, and to enrich their own life experience, in order to realize their own value of life. In the exchange activity with UNAIDS, three staff members from UNAIDS provided presentations. Ms. Cristina Milano analyzed the ways for young talents to work in UNAIDS with the case of the “Youth Program Officer (JPO) Project." Ms. ZHOU Kai explained the specific work UNAIDS has done in achieving sustainable development goals, and she introduced the main departments and corresponding functions of the UNAIDS Office in China. Ms. Sophie Bastien described the requirements and possible benefits of UNAIDS internship and the United Nations Volunteer (UNV) program. The School of Global Governance of Renmin university of China aims to equip students with essential skills to work in international organizations. By providing high-quality courses, cutting-edge lectures and practical activities, The School of Global Governance provides resources in and outside of the campus for students interested in future careers in international organizations.
